Odysseus Ventures: This fiction novel is about an Urban Real Estate Developer, Odysseus Winslow, the best in the country at his craft. By the time he was 40 years old, he had achieved a dream to start and finish a project in Texas with friends. The project scene is placed in Galveston, Texas, near the ocean. It is a majority-owned project by Black Americans. It features a local restaurant, Houston This Is It Soul Food, owned and operated by Mr. Craig Joseph. Mr. Winslow frequents this restaurant with his friends and family members. It is a staple in the 3rd Ward Houston Community near Downtown Houston and adjacent to Texas Southern University. When the plot starts, he is raising capital of $10 million to complete this dream project. After ten years went by, he not only finished this project but many more. We learn the valuable lesson of how hard work, dedication, and skill, along with working with the right team, you can do much with little. While working on this project, he marries the woman of his dreams. They have children. And they witness the strong ethics and zeal for success within their children. It is an outstanding read. One that I believe will foster entrepreneurship in you, whether it is a small or large business.  ($19.99 without taxes)

     

Kwan & Brothers: This fiction novel is about brotherhood and relationships. Kwan, the main character, is a mama’s boy. He has two sisters. His Mama is a devoted Christian. He befriends a demon. He thought he was the only one in his school who could see him. While in High School, one of his soccer teammates loses his family in a car accident, and he comes to live with Kwan’s family. All the children in his family play golf over the summer. Kwan and his cousin, Kalmin, picked up the sport and became ranked in the top 50 in the World. Most of the characters' names symbolize who they are in the novel. It is a quick read but good. (16.99 without taxes)
